Mobile Communications

Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth, PLC attorneys were present at the creation of the cellular radio industry, a turning point in the development of United States mobile communications. We helped to shape the rules that defined the service and then went on to represent many cellular licensees. As cellular led to Personal Communications Service, Advanced Wireless Service, and other mobile spectrum categories, and as voice and text communications have morphed into broadband and IP-based communications, we have adapted to the changing rules, challenges and technologies involved. As the licensing process has evolved from comparative hearings to lotteries to auctions, our lawyers have assisted industry participants in understanding and using the new rules to their advantage.

We represent Commercial Mobile Radio Service providers who offer service from diverse platforms including Global System for Mobile Communications, Code Division Multiple Access and Long Term Evolution. FHH attorneys also work with many state and local government agencies on matters related to public safety radio communications.

Our lawyers assist companies that operate their own private radio networks with licensing matters and in maintaining compliance with FCC rules. We are experienced in the special issues faced by companies that provide automatic meter-reading services in the mobile radio spectrum.
