Trade Associations

Industries especially sensitive to federal regulatory, tax, and trade policies need to have their voices heard in Washington. Having represented many trade associations (often serving as general counsel), Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth, PLC. can help trade groups both large and small to organize and to convey their concerns effectively to policymakers.

We often help to assemble temporary coalitions to press for regulatory changes important to a particular industry. When appropriate, the firm is prepared to assist in establishing new associations and coalitions and to advise existing groups by:

Utilizing the firm's registered lobbyists to help navigate the legislative process and advocate for change on an industry-wide basis
Representing trade groups before the regulatory agencies
Advising new organizations on choice of corporate status, drafting and filing basic organizational documents such as articles of incorporation, bylaws, and applications for recognition as an organization exempt from taxation under the not-for-profit sections of the Internal Revenue Code
