    Jeffrey J. Gee is a member of Fletcher, Heald and Hildreth, PLC. Mr. Gee represents media and telecommunications companies and online businesses in complex regulatory and transactional matters. He has advised radio and television broadcast station groups, individual station owners, and cable system operators on matters relating to compliance with the full range of FCC regulations and policies, including licensing and rulemakings, political advertising restrictions, content regulations, cable and satellite carriage obligations, and media ownership restrictions.

    Mr. Gee has extensive experience in assisting companies with day-to-day compliance activities. He regularly creates and leads “in-house” training programs for company executives and employees. He also prepares employee handbooks and compliance manuals covering a variety of federal rules and regulations. When necessary, he has led internal company investigations and audits and made recommendations to management on corrective action. He also has assisted companies in responding to federal inquiries, investigations and enforcement actions.

    Mr. Gee also counsels media and telecommunications companies and financial institutions in connection with transactional matters, including the purchase, financing, and sale of broadcast and cable properties, real estate and tower leasing, music licensing, and programming agreements. In this capacity, he has guided transactions totaling hundreds of millions of dollars, advising clients in the negotiation and drafting of transactional documents and agreements.

    Mr. Gee received his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. A graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications and the College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University, he received his B.A. cum laude, in Writing for Television, Radio and Film, Policy Studies, and Political Science. While studying at Syracuse University’s London Center, Mr. Gee interned with the Political Research Unit of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Prior to joining Fletcher, Heald and Hildreth, Mr. Gee practiced with a large communications law firm in Washington, D.C. Mr. Gee’s writings on media regulation have appeared in various trade publications and he is a regular speaker at industry events, including several state broadcasters’ associations.

    Mr. Gee is a member of the Virginia State Bar, District of Columbia Bar, the Maryland State Bar, and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association. He also is an active member of the Federal Communications Bar Association and has served as co-chair of several of its committees, including the National Telecommunications Moot Court Competition and, most recently, the Diversity Committee.
