Steve Lovelady represents clients in transactional matters, primarily acquisitions and sales of radio and television stations. He has practiced at other law firms in Washington D.C. and Houston,Texas, and as an in-house attorney for a large multi-national energy company.


Steve provides advice to clients in drafting and negotiating the terms of letters of intent, asset purchase/sale agreements, options to purchase, confidentiality agreements, covenants not to compete, tower leases, and time brokerage agreements. In addition, he prepares articles of incorporation, bylaws and shareholder agreements for privately held corporations, and certificates of formation and membership/operating agreements for limited liability companies. Steve is also experienced in a broad range of lending documentation including secured promissory notes, deeds of trust, and other forms of financing instruments.


Steve graduated, cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center in 1990, where he was an associate editor of the Houston Law Review. Prior to law school, Steve worked as a petroleum engineer for eight years after obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University in 1978.


Steve is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association and is licensed to practicelaw in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Texas. He is not certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization or admitted to practice law in Virginia.
